Confessions of a British spy

Part 6A


I stayed in Baghdad for a time. Then, receiving the message ordering me to return to London, I left. In London, I talked with the secretary and some officials of the Ministry. I told them of my activities and observations during my long mission. They rejoiced greatly at the information I gave about Iraq and said that they were pleased. On the other hand, Safiyya, the girl friend of Muhammad of Najd, sent a report agreeing with mine. I found out also that throughout my mission I had been followed by men from the Ministry. These men also sent reports concurrent with the reports I had sent and with the account I had given to the secretary.


The secretary made an appointment for me to meet the Minister. When I visited the Minister, he met me in a manner that he had not shown towards me upon my arrival from Istanbul. I knew that I occupied an exceptional place in his heart now.


The minister was very pleased to know that I had obtained Muhammad of Najd. "He is a weapon our Ministry has been looking for. Give him all sorts of promises. It would be worth while if you spent all your time indoctrinating him," he said.


When I said, "I have been anxious about Muhammad of Najd. He may have changed his mind," he replied, "Don't worry. He has not given up the ideas he had when you left him. The spies of our Ministry met him in Isfahan and reported to our Ministry that he had not changed." I said to myself, "How could Muhammad of Najd reveal his secrets to a stranger?" I did not dare to ask this question to the Minister. However, when I met Muhammad of Najd later, I found out that in Isfahan a man named Abd-ul-karim had met him and ferreted out his secrets by saying, "I am Shaikh Muhammad's (meaning me) brother. He told me all that he knew about you."


Muhammad of Najd said to me, "Safiyya went with me to Isfahan and we cohabited with mut'a nikah for two more months. Abd-ul-karim accompanied me to Shiraz and found me a woman named Asiya, who was prettier and more attractive than Safiyya. Making mut'a nikah with that woman, I spent the most delightful moments of my life with her."


I found out later that Abd-ul-karim was a Christian agent living in the Jelfa district of Isfahan and working for the Ministry. And Asiya, a Jewess living in Shiraz, was another agent for the Ministry. All four of us coordinated to train Muhammad of Najd in such a way that in future he would do what was expected from him in the best way.


When I related the events in the presence of the Minister, the secretary, and two other members of the Ministry whom I did not know, the Minister said to me, "You have deserved to receive the greatest award of the Ministry. For you are the best one among the most significant agents of the ministry. The secretary will tell you some State secrets, which will help you in your mission."


Then they gave me a ten-day leave during which I could see my family. So I went home right away and spent some of my sweetest moments with my son, who resembled me very much. My son spoke a few words, and walked so elegantly that I felt as if he were a piece from my own body. I spent this ten-day leave so cheerfully, so happily. I felt as if I were going to fly from joy. It was such a great pleasure to be back home, to be with my family. During this ten-day leave I visited my old paternal aunt, who loved me very much. It was wise of me to visit my paternal aunt. For she passed away after my departure for my third mission. I felt so sad about her decease.


This ten-day leave elapsed as fast as an hour. Whereas cheerful days such as these go by as quickly as an hour, days of grief seem to take centuries. I remembered the days when I had suffered that illness in Najaf. Those days of affliction had seemed like years to me.


When I went to the Ministry to receive new orders, I met the secretary with this cheerful face and tall stature. He shook my hand so warmly that his affection was perceptible.


He said to me, "With the command of our minister and the committee in charge of Colonies, I shall tell you two State secrets. Later you will benefit very much from these two secrets. No one except a couple of confidential people know these two secrets."


Holding my hand, he took me to a room in the Ministry. I met with something very attractive in this room. Ten men were sitting around a round table. The first man was in the guise of the Ottoman Emperor. He spoke Turkish and English. The second one was dressed in the attire of the Shaikh-ul-islam (Chief of Islamic Matters) in Istanbul. The third one was dressed in an attirement identical with that of the Shah of Iran. The fourth one was in the attire of the vizier in the Iranian palace. The fifth one was dressed like the great scholar leading the Shiites in Najaf. The last three of these people spoke Persian and English. Each of these five people had a clerk sitting beside him to write down whatever they would say. These clerks were imparting to the five men the information collected by spies about their archetypes in Istanbul, Iran, and Najaf.


The secretary said, "These five people represent the five people there. In order to know what their archetypes think, we have educated and trained these people exactly like their archetypes. We intimate the information we have obtained about their originals in Istanbul, Iran and Najaf to these men. And these men, in their turn, imagine themselves to be their originals in those places. Then we ask them and they answer us. We have determined that the answers given by these people are seventy-percent agreeable with the answers that their originals would give.


"If you like, you may ask questions for assessment. You have already met the scholar of Najaf." I replied in the affirmative, for I had met the great Shiite scholar in Najaf and asked him about some matters. Now I approached his copy and said, "Dear teacher, would it be permissible for us to wage war against the government because it is Sunni and fanatical?" He reflected for a while, and said, "No, it is not permissible for us to wage war against the government because it is Sunni. For all Muslims are brothers. We could declare war on them (Sunnite Muslims) only if they perpetrated cruelty and persecution on the Ummat (Muslims). And even in this case we would observe the principles of Amr-i-bi-l-maruf [Enjoinment to that which is defined as Good by Allah and the Prophet and AhlulBayt (PBUT)] and Nahy-i-ani- l-munkar [Forbiddance of that which is defined as Evil]. We would stop interfering with them as soon as they stopped their persecution."


I said, "Dear teacher, may I have your opinion concerning the matter that Jews and Christians are foul?" "Yes, they are foul," he said. "It is necessary to keep away from them." When I asked the reason why, he replied, "It is done so in retaliation for an insult. For they look on us as disbelievers and deny our Prophet Muhammad 'alaihis-salam'. We therefore retaliate for this." I said to him, "Dear teacher, isn't cleanliness an issue of iman? Despite this fact, the avenues and streets around the Sahn-i-Sharif are not clean. Even the madrasas, which are the places of knowledge, cannot be said to be clean." He replied, "Yes, it is true; cleanliness is from iman. Yet it cannot be helped because the Shiites are negligent over cleanliness."

It is also noteworthy to mention that the Muslims regard the Jews and Christians as the Ahl of Ketaab (adherents to the book); they, at time of the prophets Moses and Jesus (PBUT) were the adherents to Divine Books, the problems started when they disobeyed the Prophets and their Successors (PBUT) and distorted Divine Books, if they had not done so, they would have remained faithful to the prophesies of the Prophets (PBUT) regarding the final Prophet and his Successors (PBUT), and therefore they would not have deviated from the Right Path of Allah, the One and Only Creator. The answers given by this man in the Ministry were precisely concurrent with the answers I had received from the Shiite scholar in Najaf. Such accurate identity between this man and the scholar in Najaf amazed me utterly. In addition, this man spoke Persian.


The secretary said, "If you had met the archetypes of the other four personages, you would talk to their imitations now and see how identical they are with their originals." When I said, "I know how the Shaikh-ul-islam thinks. For Ahmad Effendi, my hodja in Istanbul, gave a detailed description of the Shaikh-ul-islam to me," the secretary said, "Then you can go ahead and talk with his model."


I went near the Shaikh-ul-islam's model and said to him, "Is it fard to obey the Khalifa?" "Yes, it is wajib [obligatory]," he replied. "It is wajib, as it is fard to obey Allah and the Prophet." When I asked what evidence he had to prove this, he answered, "Didn't you hear about Janab-i-Allah's ayat, 'Obey Allah, His Prophet, and the Ulul amr from among you' [Qur'an, 4:59]?" I said, "Does this mean that Allah commands us to obey the Khalifa Yazid, who permitted his army to plunder Medina and who killed our Prophet's grandson Husain, and Walid who drank alcoholic spirits?" His answer was this: "My son! Yazid was the Amir-ul-Muminin with Allah's permission. He did not command the killing of Husain. Do not believe in the Shiite lies! Read the books well! He made a mistake. Then he made tawba for this. He was right about his ordering Medina-i-munawwara plundered. For the inhabitants of Medina had become quite unbridled and disobedient. As for Walid; yes, he was a sinner. It is wajib not to imitate the Khalifa, but to obey his commandments compatible with the Shariat." I had asked these same questions to my hodja Ahmad Effendi and received identical answers with slight differences.


[Again and again we have been observing the dangerous consequences of disobeying the commands of Allah and the Prophet Mohammad (PBUH&HP) who have commanded humankind, not to ever separate Qur'an and the AhlulBayt (Qur'an 3:103 & 112, 16:44, 29:49, 5:55, …; the Hadith of Thaqalain, …); the verse of Qur'an which makes Wajib and obligatory to obey the 'UlulAmr (the Possessors of Command and Authority) -based on Qur'an itself, and Allah-Commanded clarifications of the Prophet (Qur'an, 16:44, …)- is commanding the obedience of the AhlulBayt, i.e. the Infallible 'Ulul Amr' whose obedience is regarded by Qur'an to be the same as the obedience of Allah and the Prophet of Allah; obviously the 'Ulul Amr' can not be those who make mistakes and/or commit sins, how can the obedience of sinners be the same as the obedience of Allah and the Prophet of Allah?!!! Allah Himself has commanded in Qur'an not to ever obey the sinners (Qur'an 76:24); it is more than obvious that the 'UlulAmr' are the Infallible AhlulBayt (PBUT), and not just any one who rules over people including the unjust and sinners, as the Sunni creed teaches. This illogical command, i.e. to obey any ruling Khalifa, originated by the usurpers and their followers who have wanted to rule over people and oppress them without being faced with any opposition. But on the other hand, obviously the obedience of Allah-Chosen Infallible Ones such as the Prophet Muhammad and his AhlulBayt (PBUT) is the obedience of the most perfect, loving, benevolent and knowing who have always been after guiding people to eternal Salvation and nothing else. This is a major difference between the doctrine of the Shi'ah and that of the Sunni. And as mentioned above one grave consequence of this malevolent and selfish distorted teaching of the Sunni, has been the unjust, inhumane and heart breaking event of 'Aashoora (Ashura) that happened on Moharram of the year 61 A.H., in which the grandson of the Prophet (PBUT) -who according to Qur'an itself (Qur'an 3:61, the verse of Mobaahelah) was considered as one of the only two sons of the Prophet having the Divinely Honored Position of "MostajaabulDa'wah (Accepted Prayer)", and whom the Prophet (PBUH&HP) had declared over and over that Hosain (PBUH) was of him and that he was an Allah-Chosen Imam after him- along with other beautiful members of the Prophet's family. and some of the most pious Muslims ever lived, were brutally martyred, and their women and children including those of the Prophet's household such as the Lady Zaynab, Lady Roqayyah and …, and also the forth Imam, Ali son of Husain (PBUT), were taken captive. It is noteworthy to mention that Aashoora is reported in well known Sunni documents such as the Taarikh (History) of Tabari, and additionally due to the Shiah's insistence on continuous mourning on the anniversary of 'Aashoora throughout history and thus keeping it alive, some of the followers of the Sunni creed -contrary to the teachings of the Sunni way of thought, and unlike those Sunni who actually have been celebrating 'Aashoora every year, giving each other gifts, and …- have not been able to deny the wickedness of Yazid, and have gone further to praise Imam Hossain (PBUH) for his Jihad against the injustice of Yazid son of Mo'aawiyah; we remind those Sunni who are SINCERE in their realization of the injustice of Yazid, due to his incompetence to be the leader and commander of believers, that Imam Husain (PBUH), as indicated by himself, rose for Amr to Ma'roof and Nahi from Monkar (enjoinment to those things which Allah considers as Good, and prohibition from those things which Allah considers as evil), and the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH&HP) on many occasions and most clearly on his last sermon, the Ghadir Sermon, has clarified that the head, the peak and the command center (the Ra's) of all Amr to Ma'roof is, enjoining all Muslims, and the entire humankind for that matter, until the Day of Qiyaamat, to confess the Allah-Bestowed Wilayat of the AhlulBayt (PBUT) and to accept their Divinely Ordained Imamat and Leadership, and thus to obey them; here is a portion of the Prophet Mohammad's (PBUH&HP) Ghadir Sermon:

"… Behold! Surely The Ra's (the head, the uppermost important level, and the command center) of enjoining Ma'roof and forbidding Monkar is, resorting to my saying, and conveying it to whoever is not present, and urging him to accept it, and advising him against violating it, for, it surely is a Command of Allah, the Mighty and the Majestic, from me.

And there is no enjoining Ma'roof and forbidding Monkar except with (the obedience of) a Ma'soom (Infallible) Imam … ."

Therefore Imam Hosain (PBUH) at top of every thing else, rose to try to keep Wilayat alive and to re-invite humankind to the Right Path of Allah, and to let every one know until Qiyaamat that the Allah Bestowed Right of the True Imams and Leaders of humankind have been usurped and thus humankind have been suffering spiritually and physically as the direct result. So it is more than obvious that the leadership of incompetent people such as Yazid, and thus all the injustice, such as 'Aashoora itself, have actually been the direct result of the usurpation of the Allah Commanded Leadership in the first place. SO WE HUMBLY AND KINDLY INVITE ALL OUR SINCERE SUNNI BROTHERS AND SISTERS TO RE-THINK THE SITUATION; ON THE ONE HAND, ACCEPTING AND HONORING THE USURPATION OF ABUBAKE AND 'UMAR AND …, AND THEN ON THE OTHER HAND, PRAISING IMAM HOSAIN FOR RISING AGAINST THE INJUSTICE AND LEADERSHIP OF YAZID, A PHENOMENON WHICH WAS THE ILLEGITIMATE CHILD OF THAT SAME USURPATION, DO NOT ADD UP. WE CORDIALLY INVITE ALL OUR SINCERE SUNNI AND SHI'AH BROTHERS AND SISTERS TO HUMBLY SEEK ALLAH'S GUIDANCE WHILE THINKING ABOUT THIS VITAL MATTER; AFTER ALL, IT IS THE MATTER OF ETERNAL LIFE OR DEATH, FOR, WITHOUT THE OBEDIENCE OF ALLAH, I.E. WITHOUT SUBMISSION BEFORE THE ALLAH-BESTOWED LORDSHIP AND WELAAYAT (WILAYAT) OF THE PROPHET MOHAMMAD, HADRAT ALI AND THE ELEVEN IMAMS FROM MOHAMMAD AND ALI (PBUT), AND WITHOUT SUBMISSION TO THEIR DIVINELY ORDAINED IMAMAT AND LEADERSHIP NO DEED, NO SALAAT AND ZAKAAT AND FASTING AND HAJJ AND … WILL EVER BE ACCEPTED BY ALLAH!

And regarding the plundering of Medina by Yazid's army: After Aashoora, on DhylHajjah of the year 63 A.H. the people of Medina who were tired of the corruption and injustice of Yazid son of Mo'aawiyah son of AbiSofyaan and his appointed governor, followed Abdollah Hanzalah son of Zobair -who was after personal gains and power, and was as corrupt as Yazid himself- and rose against the governor, 'Othmaan son of Muhammad son of Abi-Sofyaan, and expelled him and his aid, Marwaan son of Hakam, and other members of his government; as the result, Yazid sent an army to Medina, and after a fierce battle outside Medina, the army entered the city; and for three days, by the command of Yazid and the army commander, Moslem son of Oqbah, the troops were given total freedom to do as they wished to the people. The unspeakable atrocities and crimes which were committed were horrible, and the massacre of thousands of people and the plundering of the city are to name a few. This event is known as the Al-Harrah, which is also reported in Sunni documents such as the Taarikh of Tabari, and thus another undeniable proof of the corruption of the system originated by the original usurpers; it is very important to mention that Abdullah son of Zobair and his satanic self-centered uprising by no means was approved by the Infallible Imam of the time, Ali son of Hosain, Imam Sajjaad (PBUT); any such uprising, if it is to be approved by Allah and considered as Jihad in the cause of Allah and True Justice, and therefore not considered as a sinful cause for human beings to suffer and to be killed and …, MUST be permitted by the Imam and Hojjat of time. Another notable point is that after all the crimes which were committed in the event of Harrah, Abdullah son of 'Omar (the son of the so-called second caliph) stood in prayer behind the so-called winning commander and followed his lead, and stated that, always the winner is the imam and leader! This is the essence of the Sunni doctrine regarding the issue of imamat and leadership of the society!!! So different from the Pure concept of Imamat (Divinely Ordained Leadership of Infallible Imams), as commanded by Allah and His Prophet (PBUH&HP), and believed by the Shi'ah!

Here it is also noteworthy to mention that Sayyed Ebn Taawoos, a very great and renowned Shi'ah scholar, in his book: "Al-Yaqin fi Emrat-e-Mawlaana AmirulMo'menin", Certitude in the Commandership of our Mawla (lord and master), The Commander of the Believers (the AmirulMo'menin), has gathered over one hundred and thirty Sunni Hadith indicating that by command of Allah, the only one in Islam who has ever had Divine Permission to be called AmirulMo'menin, has been Ali son of AbiTaaleb (PBUT), and absolutely no one else! Yet sinners like Yazid called themselves: amirulmo'menin by permission and confirmation of Allah!!! Additionally this question must be answered by all the Sunni that, how could a so-called ruler of Muslims, only a few years after the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH&HP), have made such a grave mistake in Aashoora?!!! It is more than obvious that it was another satanic premeditated plot, and not a mistake; the British spies have not been the only playthings of Shaitaan throughout history … .

The Shi'ah, while trying to remain on the Right Path of Hadrat Mohammad and his AhlulBayt (PBUT) and teaching others, also are awaiting the glorious Ever-Promised Appearance of the Last Allah-Chosen Successor of the Last Holy Prophet of Allah, Mahdi (PBUT). Then I asked the secretary, "What are the ultimate reasons for preparing these models?" He said, "With this method we are assessing the mental capacities of the (Ottoman) Sultan and the Muslim scholars, be they Shii or Sunni. We are searching for the measures that will help us cope with them. For instance, if you know what direction the enemy forces will come from, you will make preparations accordingly, post your forces at suitable positions, and thus rout the enemy. On the other hand, if you aren't sure about the direction of the enemy assault you will spread your forces here and there in a haphazard way and suffer a defeat. ... By the same token, if you know the evidences Muslims will furnish to prove that their faith, their Madhhab is right, it will be possible for you to prepare the counter-evidences to rebut their evidences and shock their belief with those counter- evidences."


[To all the spies and hands of Shaitaan out there: One of the many things, that you have not assessed correctly and absolutely have no power against, is God! You may achieve certain worldly victories throughout times, but the Truth, the True Islam, will live on, and at the end, Allah at the hand of Mahdi with the help of Jesus (PBUT) and …, will … .]
