Infallible management

Imam Baaqer (PBUH) has said:

“At time of Mahdi, there shall not be any unutilized land on earth ...”

(Ekmaal-O-Ddeen, Vol.7)

It is said that over seventy percent of human brain and scientific powers are spent on wars and related industries. Statistics indicate that with the money spent only in the first half of the twentieth century on wars and weapons, it was possible to feed the entire planet for fifty years and build comfortable homes for five hundred million families. In wars of the twentieth century, over one hundred million persons lost their lives. Unfortunately if humankind continues to move on the path he has been, at the end of the twenty first century the war statistics will be even more heart-breaking.

Also scientists say that if all unutilized lands become habitable and all foods and eatables in nature are used, humankind can surmount poverty and hunger even if the earth's population doubles or more. In the year 2004 A.D. four million people died of hunger around the world; the numbers are rising every year.

As long as history remembers, management and leadership of the world have mostly not been honest and benevolent. In order to gain more power, control and wealth, world leaders usually produce destructive wars without caring for human consequences. History has been repeating itself over and over. If the money, man-power and brain power spent on wars were correctly managed and directed in useful projects such as agriculture and development of unutilized lands, humankind could have produced enough food to feed everyone. Of course, an infallible, benevolent, knowledgeable and experienced management is needed to organize activities and to honestly and fairly distribute the food produced. As long as the management and leadership of the world is mostly dishonest and selfish and has worldly intentions, nothing good can happen because competition for gaining more power and money will not allow improvement of the situation. Only an infallible and truly benevolent management –a pure and Divine leadership, with no worldly intentions that cares for humanity- can lead the world towards sincere unification, not a forceful unification. An artificial unification by the powerful can never unify hearts and bring about peace of mind, security, prosperity, happiness and ... . True unification of hearts and minds are only possible under the light of the benevolent laws of the loving God and at the hand of an infallible, immaculate, blessed, wise, kind and benevolent manager and leader whose only goal is to serve God and to lead His people to everlasting bliss.

Perhaps our hearts, just like caged birds in our chests, wish to fly towards the Lord of hearts, next time that we recite the pilgrimage prayer of Imam Mahdi (PBUH) on Fridays:

... Peace and greetings be upon you, the benevolent Lord and Wali ...
