...Jesus...Mohammad...(PBUT)

The world we are living in today, is surely different from yesterday. Today, people from different parts of this planet can easily communicate with one another and exchange ideas and beliefs. Imagine, would it not be wonderful if we could all live together happily and peacefully? If the world -with all its differences- is to become united, a solid common ground must be found. The strongest commonality between all humans is love, a pure and innocent love which all kindnesses stem from it. All humans, from every part of this world and any race and color, have the most precious treasure in their hearts and that is, the God-bestowed gift of love for the one and only Creator and Lord. Sometimes human becomes too busy with every day life and routines and his toys and hobbies, that he may forget this love but when he takes the time to reflect and observe the magnificent beauty and harmony in God's creations or when a sad event -causing hopelessness and helplessness- occurs in human life, then human remembers this warm, dependable and pure love.

The bright-minded twenty first century human knows that God is a real and unique existence and that, it is not intelligent to imagine the real God any way human wishes. In any manner that God is imagined -as a statue, an animal, a human or only a thought inside human brain- that it self is just a created phenomenon, and not the real Creator. Today's wise and educated human realizes that his brain with all its unbelievable powers, is still limited and created and therefore, it can not comprehend the essence of the unlimited Creator. Can an ocean fit in a bowl?! Even this example does not do justice, because an ocean -as great as it is- is still limited but God is unlimited!

The loving God has created certain perfect and most beloved humans, who just like mirrors, manifest God's love, power, knowledge, beauty and …, such as Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus and Mohammad (PBUT). It is obvious that, in order to get close to the loving and knowing Almighty, human must learn His way from those whom God has trained Himself, i.e. the blessed chosen-ones whose knowledge, benevolence, power and love are heavenly bestowed .

All Divine Prophets are Messengers from the same Compassionate and Merciful God. While the chosen-ones are humans and feel every human feeling, at the same time, their Divinely bestowed blessings provide them with wisdom and insight to be infallible and perfect. They, just like perfect mirrors, reflect the light of God. Therefore, their words are the Word of God and their commands are His Command. All their Divine teachings are based upon the principles of Monotheism and Justice. The major differences observed today in their teachings do not stem from the Prophets' differences because they were all chosen by the same God, rather these differences have roots in politics, history and human's worldly ambitions.

For example, history indicates that no Gospel was ever written while Jesus (PBUH) was living on earth. In the forth century A.D. 128 Gospels -written years after Jesus by various writers and under the influence of dominant cultures and civilizations of the time and with significantly different texts- were available and that is when, i.e. centuries after Jesus, four Gospels were chosen by Romans who -based on ancient Greek and Roman cultures- used to worship many imaginary gods. (for more information, please read the article: “Europe, Christianity and Islam” in this site.) History also shows that the concept of Trinity in Christianity was originated and introduced by Paul and not by Jesus (PBUH). Based on these aforesaid facts and many other historical documents, unfortunately the original heavenly words of Jesus (PBUH) have not been completely saved.

History also verifies that similar circumstances surrounded the writing of the Books of the Old Testament. Based on the Bible Encyclopedia, the original Torah written by Moses(PBUH) was given, by Moses, to the priests to be protected; the original Torah was put in the Ark of the Covenant and once every seven years, it was taken out to be read by the priests and heard by the children of Israel; after the reading, the Torah was again put in the Ark and protected; during the years -from Prophet Moses to Prophet Solomon (PBUT)- the children of Israel sometimes believed and other times disbelieved... . Based on Bible, Old Testament, book of 1 kings, chapter 8, statement 9, when the Prophet Salomon (PBUH) opened the Ark of the Covenant, the Torah of Moses was missing; the only things found in the Ark of the Covenant were “the two Tables of stones”. Based on the Bible, the Old Testament, Book of Deuteronomy, chapter 5, statement 22, the only things written on the two “Tables of stones”, were the ten Commandments. Therefore, from the Old Testament itself, it is proven that the original Torah  of Moses (PBUH) was lost before the Prophet Solomon's (PBUH) kingdom (between 971 B.C. to 931 B.C.). History indicates that the books introduced as Torah, hundreds of years later, were actually re-written by the priests and were not the original Torah; those hundreds of years were more than enough time for human distortions. Also in the centuries after Moses (PBUH), many wars in Jerusalem -such as the wars by “Nebuchad Nezzar”, the king of Babylon- often resulted in total destruction of all books and writings ... . It is very sad that the words of Prophets sent to children of Israel were distorted this way.

The words of other Prophets such as Zoroaster sent to Persians had a similar fate. During wars about 2400 years ago, his original words were set on fire by conquerors and later, after 1000 years delay, his words were rewritten in the reign of Saasaany dynasty of Persians. 1000 years were more than enough time for ancient myths and other human distortions to cast their shadows upon Zoroaster's words.

Qur'an the holy Book of Muslims was written at the time of the Prophet Mohammad (PBUH &HP) and it promises that this final holy Book shall be protected from distortions (Surah Hejr,… ); this Divine promise has already been fulfilled and for over 1400 years, all Muslims around the world have been reading the same Qur'an. (for more information, refer to the article “How has Qur'an been protected from distortions?!” in this site.)

Qur'an confirms all previous Divine Prophets and it commands the faithful to believe in them all but it also warns that their words have been distorted. Islam invites all followers of Divine Prophets to the unique path of loving and obeying the one and only God; Qur'an repeatedly commands the faithful to absolutely obey the Prophet Mohammad (PBUH&HP) and it considers the final infallible Prophet's obedience equal to God's obedience. Qur'an also emphasizes that Prophet Mohammad (PBUH&HP)is the one to teach, explain and clarify Qur'an to people (Surah Nahl, … ). But after the Prophet Mohammad's demising, some people clearly disobeyed God and the Prophet and therefore, the government of Muslims after the Prophet was taken over by, other than the Prophet's God-chosen Successor and Executor. The Prophet's words -Divinely bestowed interpretation of Qur'an- clearly confirmed the rightfulness and vital role of the Prophet's infallible successors.

History indicates that the governments of Muslims after the Prophet, declared the writing of the final holy Prophet's words as unlawful!!! For about 100 years; it was illegal to write the Prophet's words which, according to Qur'an, are absolutely nothing but Divine revelations (Surah Najm,… )! Therefore words which are today presented in the non-Shi'ah Islamic sources as the Prophet’s words were rewritten after that delay and under the influence and control of governments and politicians. As the result, many human-created interpretations of Qur'an and definitions of the path to salvation cast their shadows upon the Word of God. It means that history repeated itself and the religion of God was once again distorted.

It is only the Shi'ah who with no delay, through the Prophet-taught teachings and Divine guidance of 12 infallible God-chosen executors -known as Imams- after the Prophet throughout the ages, have written and saved the Prophet's words, i.e. the genuine Divine teachings which lead all humans to everlasting salvation and blissfulness; it is noteworthy to mention that the Shi'ah have experienced many persecutions, tortures and martyrdoms in this holy cause. It is so important to understand that words of the final Prophet, his daughter Fatima and 12 infallible Imams (PBUT) are not of regular humans’ rather their words are heavenly reflections of the word of God and His wishes and intentions. May our hearts realize the celestial value of their sayings and doings -Sunnah- which are narrated as Hadithes in genuine Shi’ah documents.

Although words of other Prophets have been changed for many reasons throughout history, but still traces of the Truth can be found in their distorted sources such as certain statements in Zoroastrian writings, The Book of Genesis, book of Deuteronomy, Gospel of John and … . The wonderful news about appearance of the final holy Prophet Mohammad in the Mount Paran area, the ruler of the world who is from descendants of the Prophet Ismael and many more undeniable signs regarding him were given by all previous Divine Prophets.

It is enlivening to know that all holy Prophets prophesied that in the last days of the world, the Savior shall return and save the entire world from the darkness of corruption and oppression. Zoroastrians call him Soshiant, Jews expect the Messiah, the Christians talk about the second coming of Jesus along with the son of man. Muslims anticipate Mahdi and the Shia'h precisely introduce Mahdi; Mahdi is alive and awaiting God's command to emerge. Finally following the emergence of Mahdi and the second coming of Jesus (PBUT) added impurities to the priceless treasure of divine teachings will be purified and history shall witness the most fantastic, beautiful and unbelievable moments of life for all beings. Qur'an promises that at the end the earth shall belong to the righteous and virtuous servants of God (Surah A’raaf,… ). Let us strive and pray for that magnificent time… .
