Innate Anticipation

Anticipation for a Savior seems to be not only the belief of those who follow a Divine religion but also the hope of every human deep in his heart. Based on Qur’an (Surah A'raaf, Verse 172) and the Sunnah, the Shi'ah believes that God made a covenant with all humans after He created their lights and there, God showed humankind that His Prophets and their God-Chosen Successors and Imams were His most obedient and benevolent creations and then God said that loving and obeying them would always be the only gate way to salvation. Also, God gave the good news that at the hand of the final Successor of the final holy Prophet, every Divine promise would be fulfilled and the earth be brightened by Divine light. Sadly, many of us have freely chosen life styles which draw us farther and farther from God every day but if we do some deep soul searching, we will find that familiar feeling of Anticipation; an innate Anticipation which flows with our blood in our veins and makes our hearts beat hopefully and lovefully.

This is what Hendrick Willem van Loon said in the book "the Story of Mankind":

… The purpose of all which has been said is that the world has an intense need for individuals who can take the rein of authority and control the helm of civilization vessel. These people must be courageous and faithful and should realize that mankind is only at the start of his journey and they must become familiar with new styles and methods of navigation, in order to deliver the ship to the intended port. These individuals must be students at the school of Time for a while. They must flatten their way with strength and make their way to the front of the vessel, where captains rule. It is also possible that sailors and unwise and dissatisfied subordinates disobey their orders and kill them but at last there shall come a day when a great captain shall deliver the ship to the destination, and in history of mankind, he shall be known as “The Supreme Hero of Humankind”.
