Absolutely doubt-free!

Findings of different fields of worldly sciences, are never doubt-free; many examples around us, verify this matter. For instance, in the field of psychology, treatments such as certain tranquillizers and electric shocks… for various mental deficiencies -which were previously thought to be helpful- today are not only, considered not helpful but also harmful; some psychologists are realizing and believing that the emotional reasons behind mental problems must be dealt with, and not just the resulting physical symptoms. Also, in the field of medicine -one of the most highly respected fields of sciences today- the examples are plenty; for instance, if some day Antibiotics were considered absolutely harmful for the people with ulcer, today certain Antibiotics are actually a treatment for ulcer.

In general, any fair, sincere and humble scientist can only claim that his/her findings are based upon the up-to-date limited knowledge of humankind; as human knowledge progresses, many of the findings today, may be proven to be incorrect tomorrow. In another words, no scientist can ever be 100% certain regarding his/her work, rather there are always doubts; doubts are not only from one time to another, but also from one person to the other. On the one hand, scientific findings, may be proven to be incorrect, as time passes; but also on the other hand, scientists may prove each other wrong, in the same period of time. Scientists may present different proofs against other scientists of their time, who have presented their own arguments; we see examples like this in today's world, over and over. All these doubts stem from the facts that human knowledge and human brain -as amazing as they are- are limited. It is true that we are witnessing tremendous progress in human knowledge, but human knowledge is confined to human's limited experiences, observations and brain power. so, is there not anything that is absolutely doubt-free?!

In Qur'an, Surah Baqarah, verse 2, we read:

This Book -No doubt in it- is Guidance for the Mottaqeen, -those who believe in the Ghaib (Unseen) and perform Salaat and from the sustenance which We have bestowed upon them, they give to others-.

Qur'an is the only available undistorted Word of the unlimited, Omnipotent and Omniscient Creator of all things; while other Prophets’ words such as Torah and Gospel have been proven to be distorted (please also see articles: "... Jesus... Mohammad... (PBUT)", "How has Qur'an been protected from distortions?", "Ghadir, heart of Qur'an", "Scientists' views",... in this site). Allah's Knowledge and Power encompass all times and places; in fact Allah is the Creator of time and place; His Knowledge was perfect yesterday and It is perfect today and It shall be perfect tomorrow; all that is seen by us and that which is unseen, in different times and places, are completely known and visible to Allah (Qur’an, Surah Hashr, verse 21;… ). Allah is the Creator of human brain and He knows its capabilities; Allah is the Creator of everything, from an atom to galaxies, and nothing is hidden from him.

It is only the Word of Allah -as indicated and clarified through Qur'an and Hadith- which is totally doubt-free. When the astronomers of Imam Moosa Kaazem's (PBUH) time, presented a model of their belief regarding the earth and the stars, the Imam told them that it was incorrect; they could not understand it then, because their knowledge was limited to that time, but the heavenly bestowed Knowledge of infallible Imams (PBUT) encompasses times and places; later with the invention of telescope and other findings, it was discovered that the old theory was completely wrong. In another example, Qur'an in Surah Takwir -over 1400 years ago- has indicated that the sun shall be darkened; the people of that time did not understand, but today scientists know that the energy of the sun is limited and many stars -similar to the sun of our solar system- have already been darkened. In the same Surah, Qur'an has indicated that with the darkening of the sun, the planets will also accept darkness; scientists today know that the planets do not produce light themselves, rather they reflect the stars' lights and therefore, the planets host light or darkness. These are only a few examples; many secrets which are revealed in narratives, are not still understood by mankind and his limited knowledge.

Many things that seem right today, may be proven to be wrong tomorrow... . The fact of the matter is that we -as a limited phenomena- can never comprehend the doubt-free unlimited Word of the Almighty; but if we believe in Him from the bottom of our hearts, we must take Qur'an and the words of those whom Qur’an introduces as the holders of the Knowledge -i.e. Mohammad and his progeny (PBUT)- seriously.

This doubt-free Qur'an indicates that Mohammad (PBUH&HP) is the final Prophet of Allah (Qur’an, Surah Ahzaab, verse 40) and his chosen, pure and infallible Ahl-Ol-Bait (PBUT) are the Olol-Amr (possessors of Divine Authority) whose obedience is commanded by Allah (Qur’an, Surah Ahzaab, verse 33; Surah Nesa’, verse 59; …),...; as Qur'an promises, Mahdi (PBUH) shall appear and cause the Islam of Mohammad (PBUH&HP), the true religion of Allah, to prevail over all ways of life (Qur’an, Surah Saf, verse 9; Surah Tobah, verse 33; Surah Fath, verse 28; …); as Qur'an promises -without a doubt- there will be a Judgement Day when we shall all return to Allah and our deeds and beliefs will be judged, and only those who have obeyed Allah and His Prophet, will achieve everlasting Salvation (Qur’an, Surah Fath, verse 17; ...) .

In our limited lives in this world, we surely use the limited human knowledge; for instance, some times there is a medicine for our illness and other times there is none; some times the medicine helps and other times it does not; in any case these are only limited for this life; But if we choose anything except the doubt-free Qur'an for guidance to salvation, we will not only lose the true peace of mind and hope in this life -in sad and happy times- but we shall also lose the everlasting Salvation and bliss. In another words, Islam offers a blessed way of life in this world which makes human life -both Here and Hereafter- peaceful and pleasant.

The aforementioned Qur'anic verse has indicated that the Guidance of this doubt-free Book is for those who are Mottaqi (pious and …); i.e. as the verse itself and other verses clarify, those who believe in the Ghaib (Unseen) and perform the specified prayers and … .

Imam Saadeq (PBUH) -years before Imam Mahdi (PBUH) was born- has said that the believing in the Ghaib that this verse is referring to, is the believing in and confessing to the Rising and the Appearance of Mahdi (PBUH) -the Qaa’em- (Kamaal-O-Ddeen, …). In another words, this verse is introducing the belief in Imam Mahdi (PBUH) as a requisite for the Guidance of the doubt-free Qur'an; this itself proves the importance of believing in our beloved Anticipated Imam (May Allah hasten his Appearance) .

If we wish that the doubt-free Word of the unlimited Creator of all things, may Guide us, believing in Imam Mahdi -as the final manifestation of Qur'an who will unite humankind based on the doubt-free Qur'an- is the celestial master key.

O' Mahdi! we eagerly Anticipate your wonderful Appearance with our hearts and souls; our lonely hearts only beat for you. we want nothing more than seeing, serving and pleasing you -before your Appearance and after-, for pleasing you, pleases Allah; your love and obedience is the Right Path which Qur'an Guides to; so, take our hands and leave us not to ourselves, even for one moment! We love you and we need you... .
