Aim of creation - I

The subject of “Aim of creation” is a frequently thought about matter by intellectuals. The only reasons for existence of humankind which human schools of thoughts have presented, are eating, sleeping, working, enjoying, … to dying, -i.e. living and existing to leaving this world and not existing- and even the aim of all scientific discoveries is defined, for better living and leaving; in another words, human schools of thoughts have limited the aim of existence to this world, because they consider human, a completely terrestrial and mortal being, not a celestial one.

Islam has not only paid attention to the needs of mortal human body, but also of his soul and spirit -which lives on after the death of human body-; Allah has beautifully considered all aspects of humankind in specifying a path for his perfection and salvation, in defining the aim for his creation, for Allah is the Creator of humankind and all aspects of his needs.

We cordially invite you to also read the article: “The Ascension of Mohammad (PBUH&HP)” in this site, in which we have briefly discussed the delightful subject of the aim of human creation. One of the Qur’anic verses which we have mentioned in that article -the verse 56, from Surah Zaaryyaat-, here we wish to discover the heart of that meaningful verse, by opening the doors to heavens through the words of Mohammad and his progeny (PBUT) which carry humanity, on the wings of Angels, all the way to Eternity:

I (Allah) have not Created the Jinn and the Human, except for that they should serve and obey me (le-Ya’bodoon).

(Qur’an, Surah Zaaryyaat, verse 56)

Imam Saadeq (PBUH) has said that one day Imam Hossain (PBUH) addressed the people and said:

Allah has not created His creations, except for that they may get to know and recognize Him, and when they know Him, they will worship Him, and when they worship Him, they will become free of worshiping and serving other than Him. A man among the companions asked: O’ son of the Prophet of Allah! … What is, knowing and recognizing Allah? The Imam responded: That is, the recognition of the people of each time and era, the Imam of that era whose obedience is incumbent upon them.

(Elal-O-Shsharaaye’, …)

Let us forget not, that Allah is our only Creator and Lord and let us remember always, this heavenly statement from Allah, as narrated by Imam Saadeq (PBUH):

THIS IS IT AND NOTHING BUT THIS, I wish to be worshipped, how I wish and not how you wish! ...

(Behaar-Ol-Anwaar,…)

Truly, only when we obey Allah, we are free from the slavery of others, from the desires and wishes of malevolent and self-centered individuals; perhaps it can be said that the most perfect human is he who has realized that no one is more loving and benevolent than his Wise and Knowing Creator, and only Allah deserves to be obeyed and worshiped, and the recognition of Allah -whom no limited mind can ever encompass- is only possible with His grace and Mercy and by the help and guidance of Allah’s chosen-ones whose Knowledge, infallibility and… are heavenly bestowed. So it is no wonder that the recognition and obedience of the infallible Imam of each era, is actually the manifestation of the recognition and obedience of Allah.

If the obedience of Allah -which leads to human perfection- is the aim of human creation, then let us read together, another beautiful and heavenly Hadith, this time from our beloved Prophet (PBUH&HP):

The highest and most superior Ebaadat (obedience and worship) is the Anticipation of “Faraj” (Appearance of Mahdi).

(Behaar-Ol-Anwaar, …)

From the beginning, all obedient humans -who have recognized and sincerely obeyed the representatives of Allah- have Anticipated the Appearance of the Promised (by all Divine Prophets) Savior -the last chosen Successor of the final holy Prophet who spreads Justice and Monotheism all over the world-; truly he who sincerely Anticipates the execution of Divine law in the near future, can he disobey it now?; truly he who sincerely Anticipates the Appearance of beauty and decency in the near future, can he be a not beautiful and indecent person now?; truly he who sincerely Anticipates the Appearance of perfect honesty tomorrow, can he be a dishonest person today?; he who sincerely Anticipates justice, can he be an unjust person himself?; … ; he who truly loves Mahdi, never breaks the loving and celestial heart of Mahdi; he who has -humbly and peacefully- realized the aim of creation, never forgets Mahdi (PBUH) and his Divinely Promised Appearance… .

It is absolutely no wonder that the recognition and obedience of the infallible Imam of our time and the Anticipation of “Faraj” (Appearance of our beloved Mahdi -PBUH-) is the most virtuous and superior worship and obedience, and the aim of our creation, for it motivates humankind to be the best it can be -in the manner that the Compassionate Allah wishes- while waiting for the very best…!

Loving and knowing Mahdi (PBUH) is, loving and knowing all the best and most perfect Divine values; he who loves and knows the best values, never settles for less than the best in his own life, the life of his loved ones and the entire human society.

O’ our beloved Mahdi! Your glorious Appearance is a heavenly manifestation of the fulfillment of the aim of human creation and we Anticipate it with all our existence….
