On that unforgettable day next to the Pond of Ghadir, The most beloved, the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH&HP) raised Hadrat Ali's (PBUH) kind and strong hand and formally established the Divinely Ordained Successorship Covenant, and clearly defined the only Straight Path as the Path of Ali and his Infallible sons from Ali (PBUT); then the Prophet (PBUH&HP) required every one until Eternity, man and woman, young and old, black and white, …, to pledge allegiance to them; that is of course if they and we wish to be considered as Believers!

As time passed, not only most broke their oath, but also killed the beloved offspring of the Prophet (PBUT) one after the other; their hearts were too blind and deaf to see and hear that after they martyred Ali, it was as if the Prophet raised Imam Hassan's kind and strong hand and said, whomever Ali and I, have been their lords, now this Hassan is his lord; and after Imam Hassan was martyred, it was the same loving voice of the Prophet (PBUT) which was echoing in the vast space of history and was saying, whomever Ali and Hassan and I, have been their lords, now this Hossain …, and after Hossain … .

Now that we are receiving the everlasting Sermon of Ghadir and therefore, becoming witnesses to the Prophet's (PBUH&HP) sayings and thus, are pledging allegiance to it, let us open the eyes and ears of our hearts and see and hear our beloved Prophet (PBUH&HP) who is raising Mahdi's kind and strong hand and is saying, whomever Ali and Hassan and Hossain and Ali and Mohammad and Ja'far and Moosa and Ali and Mohammad and Ali and Hassan and I (PBUT), have been their lords, now this Mahdi (PBUH) is his lord! Let us remember that today we are actually pledging allegiance to the Imam of our time (PBUH) with our tongues, hands, hearts and souls, the Ever-Anticipated Mahdi (PBUH) whom our beloved Prophet (PBUH&HP) is raising his kind and strong hand and repeating that which he (PBUH&HP) said on that glorious day:

Behold! Surely the Last of the Imams from among us, shall be the Qaa’em, the Mahdi;

Behold! He shall, most certainly, be the prevailer over (all) religions;

Behold! He shall definitely be the avenger against the oppressors;

Behold! He shall surely be the conqueror of the strongholds and their demolisher;

Behold! He shall be, indeed, the prevailer over every polytheistic group and their guide;

Behold! He shall certainly be the attainer for the (unrightfully taken) blood of all Awliya (Chosen and beloved) of Allah -the Mighty, the Majestic-;

Behold! Surely, he shall be the supporter and helper of the Religion of Allah;

Behold! He shall for certain, bring out big portions from deep oceans;

Behold! Indeed, he shall mark and specify each man of knowledge by his knowledge, and every man of ignorance by his ignorance;

Behold! He surely is the elite of Allah, and Allah is his Chooser;

Behold! He shall indeed be the heir of all knowledge, and the one who shall encompass every perception;

Behold! He shall certainly advise and inform on behalf of his Lord -the Mighty and the Majestic-, and shall emphasize the matters pertaining to His Communications and Signs;

Behold! He shall indeed be the right-minded, steadfast and unerring;

Behold! He shall surely be he to whom authority will be vested;

Behold! Indeed all former (Chosen Ones) have given glad tidings about him;

Behold! He shall most certainly be the Remaining Hojjat and Proof (of Allah), after whom there shall be no (new) Proof;

And there shall be no Truth except with him, nor shall there be any Light (of guidance) except at his disposal;

Behold! None, indeed, shall overcome him, and none shall be supported and assisted against him;

Behold! He shall be the "wali" of Allah (Divinely appointed lord and representative) on His earth, His judge over His creations, and His trustee in His secrets and in what He has made evident … .

(Sermon of Ghadir)

O' our beloved Mahdi! Our broken hearts which we have pledged allegiance with, only beat for your pleasedness with us, and for your glorious Return, and … .
